Kornati National Park from the sky

Kornati National Park

The archipelago of the Kornati National Park has more than one hundred islands. 89 of which are part of a natural park established in 1980 to preserve the beauty of these places and their surprising variety of animal and plant species.

The name of the archipelago comes from the imposing rocks overlooking the sea that are called crowns, especially widespread in the lower Kornati. They have impressive heights: 60-80 meters above the water and more than 100 meters under water.

They are islands of karst origin. The rocky coast is characterized by imposing cliffs, promontories and caves with a thousand ravines. This stretch of sea is a true paradise for sailors, divers and snorkelers. The beaches are often reachable only by boat and are never crowded.

The Kornati Islands are the queens of the sea. They are primitive, authentic, with sometimes surreal landscapes and bathed by a sea that is the envy of the entire world.

The Kornati National Park is located in a protected area, which means that none of them have an airport. To get there, you need to take part in guided tours that can only be carried out by vessels registered for passenger transport, and which have therefore obtained special authorization from the Park.

These islands overlook an Adriatic more beautiful than ever, while in front of you opens up a landscape that seems to be from another planet. The small atolls also offer many natural viewpoints that can be discovered by walking along numerous paths.
